“No one comes running for boys who cry rape”
Imagine: casually scrolling through Facebook, liking pictures of babies and engagement announcements out of pity, and looking over to the side of your screen and seeing your rapists profile. Seeing his family and friends and shirtless pics and complaints about people in grocery lines and what he listens to on Spotify.
It happens. It happened to Kevin Kantor, a 22-year-old poet. Un-helped. Lost. Alone. Left feeling like he should have done more when there was nothing more to be done. But he’s fighting back with his words and it is powerful.
There is no written form to follow along with, but listen and watch. Spoken word poetry is extremely powerful.
Buzzfeed did a great interview with Kevin that you can read here.
Until next time,
