Mother Falcon

Under the millions and millions of shining lights of the Milky Way, deep in the heart of West Texas, I sat on the grass of Marfa’s El Cosmico and was blown away.

Mother Falcon is a symphonic rock group from Austin of about 20 or so musicians. I couldn’t even begin to tell you all the instruments, but there’s a lot. A few different voices sing through most of the songs, adding an interesting twist. I had never heard them before that night, circa 2012. I haven’t been able to get them out of my mind since.

There are a ton of albums on Spotify, and they’re incredible. There’s even a reimagining of Radiohead’s OK Computer.

This is my favorite song from my favorite album.

And here’s my favorite album, Alhambra, in it’s entirety.

If any of you out there have the power to bring them to El Paso, you’ll be my favorite person ever. I’ve only seen them that one time and I’m dying to experience it all over again.

Until next time,
That Guy
